Gerard Schneider

Austrian-Australian tenor Gerard Schneider studied at the Guildhall School of Music, the Mozarteum Salzburg and the Juilliard School in New York. Since 2018/19 he has been a member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt, where his important roles include Werther, Erster Geharnischter ("Die Zauberflöte"), Tristan ("Le vin herbé"), Count Vaudémont ("Iolanta"), Lyonel ("Martha"), Duke of Mantua ("Rigoletto"), Shepherd ("Król Roger") and the King's Son ("Königskinder").

He also sang the King's Son at the Tyrolean Festival in Erl, as well as the title role of "L'amico Fritz". In addition, he is scheduled to return to the Wexford Festival as Rinaldo ("Armida"). Guest engagements have taken him to the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall and as part of the Recital Series at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He made his house debut as the Duke of Mantua at the Stuttgart State Opera and appeared as Rodolfo ("La Bohème") at the Komische Oper Berlin, in "Mozart and Salieri" and "The Tsar's Bride" at the Bard Music Festival and as Nicias in Massenet's "Thaïs" at the Minnesota Opera. He has also performed for the Washington Concert Opera, the Welsh National Opera and the Bregenz Festspielhaus.

In Wiesbaden, he graced the stage as Prince in the new production of "Rusalka" during the 2022/23 season.
