Chris Pichler is well known to Wiesbaden audiences for her interesting musical-literary concert programmes. Following her highly acclaimed Mozart project at the 2022 May Festival ("Mozarts Frauen"), Pichler and the Salon Ensemble now return with a new offering. This time, music by composers such as Johann Strauss, Charles Gounod, Léo Delibes, Richard Wagner and Dmitri Shostakovich will accompany Pichler's reading of Thomas Mann's century-old novel "Confessions of Felix Krull". Inspired by the memoirs of the Romanian hotel thief and trickster Georges Manolescu, published in 1905, Mann invented the fictional character Felix Krull, the son of a ruined Rhineland winemaker, who uses his natural charm, good looks, and subtle intelligence to scam his way through life.
