Korean bass Young Doo Park studied in Seoul and Berlin. He became a studio member at Cologne Opera in 2010 and was subsequently engaged as ensemble member in 2012, singing roles such as Titurel (“Parsifal”), Angelotti (“Tosca”), Melisso (“Alcina”) and Padre Guardiano (“La forza del destino”), amongst others. In 2013, he was a finalist in the Francisco Viñas Singing Competition in Barcelona. Since 2014, his roles in Wiesbaden have included Basilio ("Il barbiere di Siviglia"), Oroveso ("Norma"), Sparafucile ("Rigoletto"), Komtur ("Don Giovanni"), Samuel ("Un ballo in maschera"), Pimen ("Boris Godunov"), Sarastro ("Die Zauberflöte"), Fafner ("Das Rheingold" and "Siegfried"), Hunding ("Die Walküre"), Landgraf ("Tannhäuser"), Veit Pogner ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"), Orest ("Elektra"), Colline ("La Bohème"), Ferrando ("Il Trovatore"), Filippo and Grand Inquisitor ("Don Carlo"), Timur ("Turandot"), Hermit ("Der Freischütz") and Heinrich der Vogler ("Lohengrin").
