Ossie von Richthofen was able to engage Roland Emmerich as executive producer of his unusual documentary about three African manhood-rituals: in large pictures he captures the African Dandy-culture of the Sapeur in Brazzaville, the Surman bodypainting ceremonies in Ethiopia, and Congolese Voodoo-wrestlers.
