Following their highly acclaimed Mozart evening at the 2019 International May Festival, the Wooden Anvil Quartet returns to the festival stage with a portrait concert wholly devoted to Beethoven in this, the composer's 250th anniversary year. The Quartet consists of Edzard Locher (Hessisches Staatsorchester Wiesbaden), Martin Barth (Staatskapelle Berlin), Se-Mi Hwang (HfMDK Mannheim) and Severin Stitzenberger (Gewandhausorchester Leipzig). They are joined by Julia Ungureanu (violin), Katharina Heißenhuber (soprano), Kyoung-Soon Kim (tenor) and Benjamin Russell (baritone) in a programme of specially selected and arranged works.
