French tenor Sébastien Guèze initially studied singing and international business science in southern France, before devoting himself entirely to singing at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. He has received numerous prizes and awards, including at the Arles Singing Compeition, the Silver Voice Metz, the ADAMI French Artists' Association "Revelation Opera Singer" Competition and 2nd place at Placido Domingo's "Operalia". Guest appearances have taken him to the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées Paris, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Rome, Teatro La Fenice Venice, National Lithuanian Opera, La Monnaie Brussels, Helsinki, Miami, the Grand Théâtre of Geneva, Spoleto, as well as to the Schwetzinger Festspiele, Marseille, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Semperoper Dresden and Aalto-Musiktheater Essen. His wide repertoire includes title roles in "Faust" and "Werther", Vincent in "Mireille", Rodolfo in "La Bohème", Marius in "Marius et Fanny", Pyrrhus in "Andromaque", Alfredo in "La Traviata", Duca in "Rigoletto", Roméo in "Roméo et Juliette", Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly", Nemorino in "L'elisir d'amore", Don José in "Carmen", Lensky in "Eugene Onegin" and Maurizio in "Adriana Lecouvreur". Upcoming performances include appearances at the Metropolitan Opera New York, Theater an der Wien and the Kölner Philharmonie. He made his Wiesbaden debut in the title role of "The Tales of Hoffmann" and has also graced the stage as Rodolfo in "La Bohème". This season, Sébastien Guèze returns to Staatstheater Wiesbaden as Don José in the new production of "Carmen".
