Current affairs often inspire the best stories. This was particularly true for Wiesbaden last year: systematically, the local press unveiled allegations of scheming, intrigue, bribery and revenge in the top ranks of the city's local politics. Power in all of its many facets, false friends, rivalries, money pots, back rooms and ill-conceived holidays all form part of the complex plot.

Director Clemens Bechtel has held in-depth consultations with the protagonists on the Wiesbaden political scene, reworking his findings into a play, alongside David Gieselmann. Through this process, the team humorously poses questions such as: can real friendships in politics exist? What is personal and political morality? Is power blind? And: what role does the press play in this whole drama?
