Anja Harteros

Anja Harteros is a regular performer on all the important world stages, such as the New York Met, Milan's La Scala, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the National Opera in Paris, the State Opera Houses of Munich, Vienna and Berlin, as well as the Salzburg Festival. Her wide-ranging repertoire includes roles such as Violetta ("La Traviata"), the Countess ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Leonora ("Il Trovatore" and "La forza del destino"), Elisabetta ("Don Carlo"), Amelia ("Simon Boccanegra"), Desdemona ("Otello"), Alice Ford ("Falstaff"), Tosca ("Tosca"). Elisabeth ("Tannhäuser"), Elsa ("Lohengrin"), Marschallin ("Der Rosenkavalier"), as well as the title roles in "Arabella" and "Ariadne auf Naxos". Concert appearances include performances with orchestras such as the Berlin, Vienna and Munich Philharmonic, the Berlin and Dresden Staatskapelle, and song recitals in Milan, Vienna, Munich, Salzburg, Essen, Hamburg and Zurich. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, she was awarded the Bavarian title "Kammersängerin" in July 2007, Singer of the Year in 2009, and the Europa-Medaille in 2013. This season, she will sing the role of Sieglinde in "Die Walküre" in Wiesbaden.
