Maria Bengtsson

Maria Bengtsson was born in Sweden ans studied in Malmö and Freiburg. Her first engagements took her to the Volksoper Wien and the Komische Oper Berlin. Since then, she has performed at some of the world's most renowned opera houses, such as the Opéra de Paris, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, La Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera and the Salzburg and Aix-en-Provence Festivals. Important roles currently include Donna Anna ("Don Giovanni"), Fiordiligi ("Così fan tutte"), Contessa ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Rusalka as well as the Strauss roles of Daphne, Feldmarschallin ("Der Rosenkavalier"), Arabella and Countess in "Capriccio".
