By August Strindberg
Performed in German, based on the Swedish version by Christine Richter Nilsson & Bo Magnus Nilsson
In August Strindberg's »The Father«, the eponymous character, the cavalry captain, and his wife Laura have a disagreement regarding the education of their daughter Bertha. Laura, cunning and manipulative, suggests that Adolph may in fact have no rights in the matter. Is he even Bertha's biological father, or is she the milkmans's child? An epic battle ensues between Laura and the captain. During the course of this, the captain tries everything in his power to get to the truth. Following his productions »The Imaginary Invalid« and »Vassa Zheleznova«, director Evgeny Titov makes his third foray into the abyss of the human psyche with Wiesbaden's acting ensemble.
