Konstantin Krimmel

German-Romanian tenor Konstantin Krimmel was born in Ulm and studied in Stuttgart at the State University of Music and Performing Arts under Prof. Teru Yoshihara. He was a scholarship holder of the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation as well as the Richard Wagner Association Ulm/Neu-Ulm e.V. and attended master classes with KS Prof. Brigitte Fassbaender, Prof. Margreet Honig and Prof. Noelle Turner. Notable roles include Zoroastro in Handel's "Orlando" at Theater Heilbronn in 2016/17 and Leporello in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" in Severodonetsk, Ukraine, in 2018. Recitals with the pianist Doriana Tchakarova have taken him to the Frankfurt Oper, the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Heidelberger Frühling, the Schubertiada Barcelona, the Tetbury Music Festival, the Oxford Song Festival and Wigmore Hall London. Konstantin Krimmel is the winner of the 2019 German Music Competition, the 2019 International Helmut German Song Competition and the 2018 International Haydn Competition for Classical Song and Aria in Rohrau. He is also a prize winner of the 2019 "Das Lied" competition in Heidelberg, the 2018 Gian Battista Viotti International Music Competition, the 2018 Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin and the 2018 "Debut" Competition. Following his house debut in Bach's "St. Matthew Passion" in 2019/20, he returned to Wiesbaden in 2020/21 as Figaro in the new production of Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro", a role which he reprises in the 2021/22 season.
