"Die schöne Müllerin" is one of Schubert's most important works. It is the first of his two seminal cycles (the other being his later "Winterreise"), and a pinnacle of the Lied genre. The cycle tells the story of an apprentice miller who falls in love with his master's daughter. Klaus Florian Vogt presents Schubert's famous cycle about life, love, suffering and loss in a version specially adapted for tenor and chamber ensemble.
