"The School of Dictators" is a drama by Erich Kästner which addresses the recurring manipulability of humanity and the abuse of political power. The play received its world premiere on 25 February 1957 in Munich.

Anonymous masterminds establish a system of forced rule and run a school of dictators, so that the current head of state can be replaced at any time after an assassination – and the people don't notice anything.

"This book is a play and has one concern... there are chronic actualities." (Erich Kästner).
