Dalia Schaechter

Born in Israel, Dalia Schaechter studied in Munich and was a member of the opera studio at the Vienna State Opera. She has performed at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, in Zurich, Bologna, Tel Aviv, as well as at the Bayreuth and Salzburg festivals. She has been an ensemble member at Cologne Opera since 1995, where her repertoire includes Lady Macbeth, Clytemnestra (“Elektra”), Amneris (“Aida”) and Eötvös’ “Love and Other Demons”, amongst others. She made her debut as Amme (“Die Frau ohne Schatten”) in Saarbrücken in 2013. Previous roles in Wiesbaden include Kabanicha (“Katya Kabanova”) and Clytemnestra. This season, she returns to Wiesbaden as Kostelnička in "Jenufa".
