Dimitry Ivashchenko

Born in Russia, Dimitry Ivashchenko studied at the Glinka Conservatory and later at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe. Important bass roles such as Sarastro ("Die Zauberflöte"), Pogner ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"), Daland ("Der fliegende Holländer"), Hunding ("Die Walküre"), Fafner ("Rheingold" and "Siegfried"), Osmin ("Entführung aus dem Serail") and Gremin ("Eugene Onegin") took him to Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Geneva, Madrid, Paris, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Toulouse, Aix-en-Provence as well as to festivals in Bregenz and Baden-Baden. Ivashchenko made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera New York in 2015 in the role of Sparafucile ("Rigoletto"). He frequently appears on the concert podium, with notable appearances including Verdi's "Requiem" and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Zurich, at the Grafenegg Festival, in Hamburg, with the Berlin Philharmonic under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Orchestre de Paris. Previous appearances in Wiesbaden include Rocco in "Fidelio", as well as Kaspar in "Der Freischütz" with the Freiburger Barockorchester at the 2022 International May Festival.
