Marco Jentzsch studied singing with Irmgard Hartmann-Dressler. As a member of the ensembles in Erfurt and Hanover, he performed Tamino, Belmonte, Steuermann, Edgardo and Rosillon. He made his debut in Cologne in 2009 as Stolzing ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"), a role which he subsequently sang at the Komische Oper Berlin (directed by Andreas Homoki) as well as at the 2011 Glyndebourne Festival. In 2010, he made his debut at the Netherlands Opera in Amsterdam as Erik ("Der fliegende Holländer"), shortly followed by La Scala in Milan (as Froh in "Das Rheingold") under Daniel Barenboim. He later also sang this role at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. Guest engagements with roles such as Erik, Parsifal, Lohengrin, Max, Peter Grimes, Tambourmajor, Alviano ("Die Gezeichneten") and Bacchus have taken him to the Hamburg State Opera, Cologne Opera, Tel Aviv (conducted by Zubin Mehta), Zurich and Basel (Apollo in "Daphne"), Wiesbaden and the Dresden Semperoper. Recent debuts include the Vienna Volksoper in the title role of "Tales of Hoffmann" and Theater Klagenfurt as Tannhäuser. Further engagements have taken him to Leipzig ("Der Freischütz"), the Volksoper Vienna ("Der Zigeunerbaron") and Schwerin ("Fidelio") as part of the Schlossgartenfestspiele. Important appearances in Wiesbaden include Stolzing ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"), Rodolfo ("La Bohème"), Erik ("Der fliegende Holländer"), Count Tassilo in "Gräfin Mariza". This season, Tristan in "Tristan und Isolde" and Florestan in "Fidelio".
