Raimund Bauer
Raimund Bauer studied Stage & Costume Design in Salzburg and Vienna and was assistant to Erich Wonder and Robert Wilson. He has been working as freelance designer since 1988, amongst others at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Burgtheater Vienna, Residenztheater Munich, Deutsches Theater and Staatsoper Berlin, Schauspiel Zürich, Semperoper Dresden, as well as at the Bregenz and Salzburg Festivals ("Elektra" in 2010). Internationally, he has worked at the English National Opera in London ("Parsifal"), the Royal Opera House London ("Niobe"), Lyric Opera Chicago ("Parsifal", "Der fliegende Holländer"), San Francisco Opera, Tel Aviv Opera, Opera Lyon, Oper Tokio, Gran Liceu Barcelona, San Carlos Lisboa and San Carlo Neapel. He regularly works in Amsterdam ("Tosca", "Tannhäuser", "Turandot", "La Fanciulla del West"), as well as in Paris ("Fanciulla") and at the Welsh National Opera ("Guillaume Tell"). Previous projects with Nocals Brieger include "Krieg und Frieden" in Cologne, "Der fliegende Holländer" in Strasboug, "Mitridate" in Schwetzingen and "Medee" in Basel. Raimund Bauer is Professor at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. His previous work in Wiesbaden includes "La traviata" and "Don Giovanni". This season, he returns as stage designer for "Der Rosenkavalier" and "Wallenstein".
