Peter Marsh

Hailing from America, tenor Peter Marsh has been a member of the Frankfurt Opera ensemble since 1998, where he has performed a wide variety of roles, including Pedrillo ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail"), Monostatos ("Die Zauberflöte"), Oedipus ("Oedipus Rex"), Mime ("Siegfried"), the title role in Zemlinsky's "The Dwarf," the Captain ("Wozzeck") and the Tattered Peasant ("Lady Macbeth of Mzensk"), amongst others. He made a guest appearance at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv as Walter in Weinberg's "The Passenger", a role which he has also successfully interpreted in Frankfurt and at the Vienna Festival. Most recently, he appeared as Peter Grimes at the Nürnberg State Theatre. Past guest engagements have taken him to Dortmund Opera, the Irish National Opera in Dublin, Seattle Opera, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the State Operas in Munich, Berlin, Dresden and Hamburg, to Düsseldorf, Brussels, Tbilisi, Montepulciano and Tokyo, as well as to the festivals in Bregenz and Edinburgh.
During the 2022/23 season, he will take the Wiesbaden stage as Šapkin in "From the House of the Dead".
