Julian Habermann

From 2013 to 2017, tenor Julian Habermann studied with Prof. Hedwig Fassbender and Prof. Thilo Dahlmann at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. He is a laureate of the national "Gesang Berlin" (Junior) competition and a finalist of the international "Das Lied" competition. In addition, he was a scholarship holder of the Lied Academy of the International Heidelberger Spring Music Festival. In 2018, Julian Habermann took part in the "Liederwerkstatt" at the "Kissinger Sommer" with pianists Axel Bauni, Jan Philip Schulze and Steffen Schleiermacher and won the Luitpold Prize in 2019. In 2017, he sang the arias in Bach's St. Matthew Passion in Brixen, Meran and Eisenach with the Tölzer Knabenchor, following further performances of the same work in 2019 with the Bach Society of the Netherlands under Philippe Herreweghe. He recently sang the Evangelist in Bach's Christmas Oratorio with the Zurich Mixed Choir, conducted by Joachim Krause in the Maag Tonhalle. After making his Wiesbaden house debut as Oronte in Handel's "Alcina" in 2018/19, he has since appeared in roles such as Dancaïro in "Carmen", the Evangelist in the "St Matthew Passion", Tamino in "die Zauberflöte für Kinder", Daland's Steerman in "Der fliegende Holländer" and Pastor Adams in "Peter Grimes". Last season, he performed the roles of Fiorillo ("Il barbiere di Siviglia") and Basilio ("Le nozze di Figaro"). This season, he will grace the Wiesbaden stage as Chaplitsky in "Pique Dame", Count Lerma in "Don Carlos", as well as the Young Sailor in "Tristan und Isolde".
