Britta Stallmeister

Soprano Britta Stallmeister has over 50 roles to her name, ranging from Monteverdi to Reimann. She was a long-standing ensemble member at the Oper Frankfurt, a house where she still regularly appears as guest, most recently as Ortlinde ("Die Walküre") and Hécube in "Les Troyens" by Berlioz. Her repertoire includes roles such as Pamina ("Die Zauberflöte"), Servilia ("La clemenza di Tito"), Susanna ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Zdenka ("Arabella"), Marfa ("Die Zarenbraut"), Musetta ("La Bohème"), Sophie ("Werther"), Dalinda ("Ariodante"), Sophie ("Weiße Rose"), Lauretta ("Il trittico") and Cordelia ("Lear"). Guest engagements have taken her to Theater an der Wien, Semperoper Dresden, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and to the opera houses of Dortmund, Duisburg, Essen, Hannover, Basel, Luzern, Zürich and Rouen. She has also performed in Bayreuth and at the Salzburg Festival. She was a prize winner in the 1997 German Music Competition and began her singing career in the International Opera Studio of the Hamburg State Opera. During the 2017/18 season, she graced the Wiesbaden stage as the Playwright in Søren Nils Eichberg's world premiere opera "Schönerland". She returns to Wiesbaden this season as Ortlinde in "Die Walküre", as well as Sister Dolcina and Nella in a new production of Puccini's "Il trittico".
