A New Yorker of Korean origin, Stella An studied in South Korea and Cologne, and is a prize laureate of the Schloss Rheinsberg international singing competition. She was a member of the Cologne Opera Studio, where she made guest appearances in productions such as “Tosca”, “Hänsel und Gretel” and “Der Freischütz” during the 2013/2014 season. Her roles in Wiesbaden include Barbarina (“Le nozze di Figaro”), Berta (“Il barbiere di Siviglia”), Clotilde (“Norma”), Flora (“Turn of the Screw”), Amor (“Orfeo ed Euridice”), Gretel ("Hänsel und Gretel"), Despina (“Così fan tutte”), Xenia (“Boris Godunov”), Maidservant (“Elektra”) and Gianetta (“L'elisir d'amore”), Waldvolgel ("Siegfried"), Pamina & Papagena ("Die Zauberflöte"), Adele ("Die Fledermaus"), Blonde ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail") and Shepherd Boy in "Tosca". During the 2018/19 season, she sang Jano in »Jenufa«, Sandman and Dew Fairy in "Hänsel und Gretel", and Young Shepherd in "Tannhäuser". In 2019/20 her roles included Ines in "Il Trovatore", Frasquita in "Carmen", Papagena in "Die Zauberflöte", as well as Gianetta in "L'elisir d'amore". In the 2020/21 season, Stella appeared as Berta in "Il barbiere di Siviglia", Barbarina in "Le nozze di Figaro" and Sister Genoveva in "Suor Angelica". This season, she returns to the Wiesbaden stage as Tebaldo in "Don Carlos" and Inez in "Il trovatore", amongst others.
