Internal migration within the African continent forms the thematic basis for choreographic, musical and intellectual exploration within Serge Aimé Coulibaly's "Kirina". Through the ages, migratory movements have had significant impact on our cultures, acting as agents of transformation and change. What are the languages, musicals forms and narratives that have resulted from migration, and how have these influenced the cultures of other peoples an countries? Kirina is the name of a place in present day Guinea that has deep symbolic significance for the foundation of West African culture.
