Filíppia Elísdóttir

Hailing from Iceland, Filíppia Elísdóttir has been active as Costume Designer for drama, opera and films since 1994. She has designed the costumes for numerous productions in Reykjavik, as well as international ones, including productions in London, New York and Vienna. She created the costumes for Nick Caves’ “Woyzeck” by the Icelandic theatre company Vesturport, which played at the Reykjavik City Theatre and Barbican in London. Her costume designs for this production, as well as for “Sweeny Todd” and “Die Zauberflöte”, won her the Iceland Theatre Prize. Filíppia Elísdóttir regularly works with director Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, most recent collaborations including costume designs for “Die Fledermaus”, “La Bohème“ and “Lohengrin” at the Augsburg Theatre. At the Wiesbaden State Theatre, she designed the costumes for “La Bohème”, as well as “Die Dreigroschenoper” and “Peer Gynt”.
