Frederic Mörth

Frederic Mörth started learning the violin at the tender age of 7 and later sang in the Mainz Cathedral Boys Choir. As a youngster, he gained valuable stage experience at the Oper Frankfurt, as First Boy in "Die Zauberflöte", as well as at the Wiesbaden State Theatre, where he appeared as Hirtenknaben in "Tannhäuser". After leaving school, he studied violin with Simon Fischer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, after which he completed his Masters under Jörg Fassmann (with singing as minor) at the Dresden University. Mörth has been a singing student of Thomas Heyer since 2015. In 2016 and 2017 he appeared at the Burgfestspielen Bad Vilbel as Sarastro ("Die Zauberflöte") and Count Almaviva ("Le nozze di Figaro"). He is also studying conducting with Vassilis Christopoulos at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt, and regularly collaborates with various ensemble as singer, violinist and conductor. Previous performances in Wiesbaden include Søren Nils Eichberg's new opera "Schönerland" and Count Ceprano in "Rigoletto". This season, he returns as Deputy Mayor, Patron and Runner in Mark-Anthony Turnage's opera »Anna Nicole«.
