Matthew Wild

Stage Director
South African director Matthew Wild made his debut at Cape Town Opera with “Il viaggio a Reims”, followed by “Suor Angelica”, “Così fan tutte”, “Don Giovanni” and “The Rake’s Progress”. His first European production was “Julie” (Boesman) at Norrlands Operan in Malmö, and he subsequently staged “Between a Rock and a Hard Place” (by South African composer Philip Miller) in Stockholm in 2013. He made his musical directing debut with “The Rocky Horror Show” and became Artistic Director of Cape Town Opera in 2015. “Katya Kabanova” is his first production in Wiesbaden.
