Annette Luig

Born in Menden in Sauerland, soprano Annette Luig graduated with distinction from the College of Music in Cologne. During her studies, she received a wealth of prizes and awards. Her varied repertoire includes great lyric coloratura roles, as well as important leading parts in operettas and musicals. As long-time ensemble member of the Wiesbaden State Theatre, she performed many major roles in all of these genres, including Maria Stuarda, Queen of the Night ("Die Zauberflöte"), Gilda ("Rigoletto"), Violetta ("La Traviata"), as well as public favourites such as Rosalinde ("Die Fledermaus"), Hannah Glawari ("The Merry Widow") and Eliza Doolittle ("My Fair Lady"). Guest performances have taken her to many of the great opera houses across Germany, including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the State Theatres of Darmstadt, Hannover, Mainz and Karlsruhe, Oper Leipzig, Nationaltheater Mannheim and Wuppertal.

She appeared as Kay in the 2019/20 production of "Anna Nicole" and returns to the Wiesbaden stage this season as Solange in the Musical "Follies".
