Elissa Huber

Soprano Elissa Huber started singing lessons with Anne McGuire in Freiburg im Breisgau. After graduating from high school, she studied singing, acting and dance at the August Everding Theatre Academy in Munich from 2006 to 2020 with Celia Lombardi-Jeffreys and Vicky Hall, amongst others.

In 2010, she made her debut as Maureen in the musical "Rent" at the Deutsches Theatre Munich. Guest engagements have taken her to the Operettenhaus Hamburg (La Rosa in "Sister Act"), Theater 11 in Zurich (as Lisa Wartberg in "Ich war noch niemals in New York"), as well as on tour throughout Europe as Ludovika and Frau Wolf in the musical "Elisabeth". In 2013, she switched from musical to Classical soprano repertoire and completed her master's degree in music, performance and singing at the Zurich University of the Arts in 2015. Thereafter, she became a member of the Milan La Scala Opera Studio, where she made her operatic debut as First Lady in Peter Stein's "Die Zauberflöte" under Adam Fischer. In 2016 she won 3rd prize in the German National Singing Competition, as well as the special prize for best performance of a contemporary work. This was followed by her debut at the Theater für Niedersachsen as Agathe in "Der Freischütz".

As a permanent ensemble member at the Bern Konzert Theater, her roles included Donna Anna ("Don Giovanni"), Fiordiligi ("Cosí fan tutte") and Micaëla ("Carmen"). She made her Viennese debut as Sylva Varescu in Peter Lund's new production of "Die Csárdásfürstin" at the Vienna Volksoper. In the summer of 2019 she also made her debut at the Mörbisch Lake Festival as Lisa in a new production of Lehár's "The Land of Smiles".

Previous roles in Wiesbaden include the title role in Mark-Anthony Turnage's "Anna Nicole", Sally Bowles in "Cabaret" and Vitellia in "La clemenza di Tito". During the 2022/23 season, she returns to Wiesbaden as Hanna Glawari in "Die lustige Witwe" and Emilia Marty in "The Makropulos Affair".
