Tianji Lin

Lyric tenor Tianji Lin studied singing at the Beijing Normal University, at the Stuttgart State University of Music and Performing Arts and at the August Everding Theater Academy in Munich with Julian Prégardien. He made a guest appearance at the Bayreuth Opera House in an Academy production of Hasse's "Artaserse". During his studies in Munich, important performances included Ferrando ("Così fan tutte") at the Prinzregententheater, the title role in Haydn's "Orlando Paladino" and Don José ("Carmen") at the Theaterakademie and at the Theater Ingolstadt. Other important roles include Mozart's Don Ottavio, Belmonte and Tamino, Elvino ("La sonnambula"), Arturo ("I puritani"), Nemorino ("L'elisir d'amore"), Alfredo ("La traviata"), the title roles in Gounod's "Faust" and in Offenbach's "Les contes d'Hoffmann" as well as Rodolfo ("La Bohème"). He was a member of Oper Frankfurt's Opera Studio during the 2019/20 season, making his debut on the big stage in short operas by Ernst Křenek, as well as appearing as Shepherd ("Tristan und Isolde"), Sir Bruno Roberton ("I puritani") and the Servant ("Capriccio").
Previous productions in Wiesbaden include Jörg Widmann's "Babylon", Janáček's "Aus einem Totenhaus" and Wagner's "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg".
