Silvia Hauer

Mezzo-soprano Silvia Hauer studied in Freiburg and Vienna, and won the 2011 National Singing Competition ("Bundeswettbewerb") in Berlin. She was a studio member at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich from 2011-2013, where her repertoire included Annina ("La traviata"), Kate Pinkerton ("Madama Butterfly"), Sandman ("Hänsel und Gretel"), as well as roles in Janáček's "The Cunning Little Vixen", Henze's "Elegy for Young Lovers" and the world premiere of "Babylon". She made her Wiesbaden debut as Dorabella ("Così fan tutte"), followed by roles such as Barbara ("Katya Kabanova"), Bradamante ("Alcina"), Orlofsky ("Die Fledermaus"), Second Lady ("Die Zauberflöte"), Hänsel ("Hänsel und Gretel"), Olga ("Eugene Onegin"), Floßhilde ("Das Rheingold", "Götterdämmerung"), Zweite Norn ("Götterdämmerung"), Flora ("La Traviata"), Cherubino ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Rosette ("Manon"), Emilia ("Otello") and Suzuki ("Madama Butterfly"). During the 2018/19 season, she celebrated critically acclaimed role debuts as Sesto in Mozarts "La clemenza di Tito" and as Maddalena in "Rigoletto". In the following season, she sang Mercédès and the title role of "Carmen", as well as Octavian in "Der Rosenkavalier". During 2020/21, Silvia Hauer graced the Wiesbaden stage as Rosina in the new production of "Il barbiere di Siviglia", as Cherubino in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro", as well as Carmen, Sesto, Maddalena, Hänsel and Floßhilde / Zweite Norn. This season, she performs Polina / Daphnis in "Pique Dame", Charlotte in "Werther", as well as Cherubino in "Le nozze di Figaro" at the International May Festival.
