Paul Raison has everything an ageing white man could want: a top job at the Ministry of Economics, a pretty wife and a family that is no more broken than any other average family. But just as marital bliss begins to flourish, Paul's life suddenly begins to fall apart piece by piece, as if someone has flipped a switch and ignited "self-destruct" mode. Paul's initial struggle against the successive destruction of his existence soon turns into a question about the important things in life. He soon realises that everything that used to be important to him drastically loses relevance in the face of his own death. But in the end, there is still love and a last trip to the sea.
