Peter Rundel studied composition, violin and conducting in Cologne, Hannover and New York, and was a violinist in Ensemble Modern from 1984-1996. He made his debut with the Orchestre National de Lyon in the 2012/13 season and is a regular guest of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. In addition to classical opera, he primarily conducts contemporary works, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bavarian State Opera Munich, Vienna and Bregenz Festivals and Ruhrtriennale, amongst others. This season, he returns to Wiesbaden to conduct the new production of "Werther".
