Like Daniel Kehlmann's "Tyll", "Wallenstein" takes us to the heart of the Thirty Years' War, which began 400 years ago and brought significant change to Europe. Friedrich Schiller's 1799 historical drama describes the last days of the warlord Wallenstein, from the climax of his power to his ultimate murder.
