Ildebrando D'Arcangelo

Italian bass-baritone Ildebrando D'Arcangelo is one of the most interesting singers of his generation, known particularly for his intepretation of Mozart roles such as Figaro, Count Almaviva, Leporello and Don Giovanni. In recent years, he has added Verdi roles such as Attila, Fiesco in "Simon Boccanegra", Banco in "Macbeth", as well as Méphistophélès in "Faust" (Gounod) and "La Damnation de Faust" (Berlioz) to his repertoire. Ildebrando D'Arcangelo has worked with numerous renowned conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Myung-Whun Chung, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Bernard Haitink, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Tugan Sokhiev and Antonio Pappano. He is a regular guest at the great opera houses of the world, including La Scala in Milan, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the Vienna State Opera, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Bavarian State Opera Munich, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, the Opéra Bastille Paris, the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, the Maggio Musicale Florenz as well as at the renowned music festivals in Salzburg and Baden-Baden. This season, he graces the stage as Don Giovanni at the 2019 International May Ferstival.
