OPERA

Youth Chorus

The Youth Choir was founded in 1954 by Dr. Carl Howe for Dvořák's opera "The Jacobin". The choir then appeared on stage for the first time on 17 December 1954, under the tutelage of his wife Margarethe Howe, a trained singer and music teacher. Dagmar Howe took over the reigns from her mother in 1983, leading the choir with great commitment until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Since the start of the 2018/19 season, the Youth Choir has been under the auspices of the Evangelische Singakademie Wiesbaden. The Singing Academy is an institution of the Evangelical Deanery of Wiesbaden, with headquarters in the Lutheran Church. Niklas Sikner has been the Academy Director since 2020/21 and is responsible for the musical training, alongside vocal coaches Jud Perry, Silvia Hauer, Lena Naumann, Rouwen Huther and Marina Russmann.
