After Aua

The Frankfurter Hauptschule (FHS) is a collective that explores the limits of art and pain in the stress test of the public sphere and world of media. The young artists test the limits of social norms and the power of the law with their interventions. In 2013, Wagner’s anniversary year, the group distributed 50,000 fake tickets for the premiere of the Bayreuther Festspiele; in 2015, they revealed how Frankfurt’s urban society functions with their heroin performance; in 2016, the FHS unleashed a controversial discussion on social media with the announcement that would remove ‘love-locks’ from bridges and melt them; at the beginning of the year, they exhibited a burnt out police car in the Bahnhofsviertel in Frankfurt.

On 1st of September 2018, the FHS will intervene in the Festival Centre with the format “After Aua”. The group has been organising interventions in this format, somewhere between a game, a spectacle and Gommorah, since 2016. Although the location of these interventions has remained secret up until now and participation was only possible by invitation from the group, now for the first time “After Aua” will take place with access for the public at the WIESBADEN BIENNALE.
