Faust

Sokurov’s “Faust“ is not only the film adaptation of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s classic, but also a radical re-interpretation of the myth, both magical and disturbing at the same time. Performed in German by Austrian, German and Russian actors, this is a “Faust” as one knows it but with a force never before seen on the silver screen.
