Visualised Music for "Die Soldaten"

Lenz’s “Die Soldaten” emphasises the contradictions between human enlightenment and the constraints of society, with his critical stance towards the latter becoming the pivotal theme for the computer artists from the University of Mainz and the composers and performers from the HfMDK Frankfurt.

The result is an interesting interchange between live performance and electronic music, enhanced by a visual world of projected images. As performance space, the Wartburg becomes the backbone of the sound, blurring the lines between music, architecture and images, a border crossing between the disciplines, dedicated to its frontier worker Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz.
