Christopher Rickerby

Baritone Christopher Rickerby hails from Melbourne, where he studied at the Victorian College of Arts. He was a scholarship holder of the Alice Amy McDonald Foundation and the Friends of the Victorian College of Arts Foundation in Australia. He performed in "Die Fledermaus" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for Opera Australia and was part of the ensemble in John Adams' "Nixon in China" at Victorian Opera. In 2010, he sang the lead role of Robertson Ay in Cameron Mackintosh's Australian premiere of "Mary Poppins". He came to the Wiesbaden State Theatre for the first time in 2013 as winner of the German-Australian Opera Grant and sang roles such as Krušina in "The Bartered Bride", Farfarello in "The Love for Three Oranges" and Magaldi in "Evita". He now takes the stage as Obrist, Count von Spannheim, in "Die Soldaten".
