Vida Miknevičiūtė

Vida Mikeviciute studied in her home country of Lithuania as well as Leipzig, after which she became a member of the opera studios in Zurich and Hamburg. She won first prize at the Rober Stolz "Wiener Operette" Singing Compeitition, amongst others, and became an ensemble member at the Mainz State Theatre in 2011. She has guested in Basel, at the Staatsoper Berlin (Helmwige in the Ring Cycle, under Barenboim), Frankfurt (the title role in "Die Csardasfürstin"), Leipzig (Irene in "Rienzi"), and at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. Pivotal roles include Pamina ("Die Zauberflöte"), Violetta ("La Traviata"), Tatyana ("Eugene Onegin") and Eva ("die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"). In 2014, she made her debut as the Empress in Richard Strauss's "Die Frau ohne Schatten" in Kassel, followed by her first Chrysothemis ("Elektra") in 2017. In the same year, she saing her first Elisabeth ("Tannhäuser") at the Latvian National Opera in Riga. She made her first appearance in Wiesbaden in 2016/17 as Empress in "Die Frau ohne Schatten". This season, she returns to Wiesbaden to make her role debut as Senta in "Der fliegende Holländer".
