Drag King For One Day

Participants in the "She's the Man*" boy group workshop learn how to present themselves correctly. Gender clichés are scrutinised and deconstructed in an ironic and playful way. With plenty of background knowledge, gestures, facial expressions and movement patterns as well as make-up and clothing, two boy bands will emerge, celebrating their premiere at the subsequent "You Can't Stop The Beat" party in the Wartburg. The party-goers can then decide who will deliver the best performance at the "Lip Sync Battle".

Stephanie Weber works as a university lecturer and speaker in the field of gender and media education and communication. For many years, Weber has focussed on the topic of drag on a theoretical and practical level. Stephanie also performs as Drag King with the Cologne theatre group KINGZ OF POP.
