Troubled, displaced, in search of a void that cannot be filled: Richard Wagner's powerful music invites us to examine the tormented characters in his opera from a deeply psychological perspective. Director Martin G. Berger focuses on the mysterious past of Senta, her father Daland and the Dutchman. Dorothea Herbert, who recently caused a sensation as Senta in Prague, will make her Wiesbaden debut in this production, while Anthony Clark Evans, one of the most sought-after Verdi baritones in the USA, makes his Wagner debut as the Dutchman.
