Friedrich Eggert works as stage, costume and lighting designer for opera, drama and musicals and has worked with directors such as Inga Levant, Michael Schachermaier, Gerald Maria Bauer, Sebastian Welker and Aron Stiehl. He collaborates regularly with director Bernd Mottl. Engagements have taken him to Paris and Barcelona ("La Sonnambula"), the Volksoper ("Kiss me, Kate") and Volkstheater ("Mein Freund Harvey") in Vienna, Hannover ("Greek", "My Fair Lady", "Street Scene", "Werther" and "Der junge Lord"), Cologne ("La Voix humaine/Bluebeard's Castle", "Die Csárdásfürstin", "Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in patria" and "L’Elisir d’amore"), Karlsruhe ("Der Vetter aus Dingsda", "Un Ballo in maschera" and "Fantasio"), Saarbrücken ("La Cenerentola" and "Macbeth"), Münster ("Il Barbiere di Siviglia"), Erfurt ("Orpheus in der Unterwelt"), Coburg ("Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor"), Klagenfurt ("Im weißen Rössl"), Oper Leipzig ("Schwarzwaldmädel"), Brno ("Boris Godunow"), Prague ("Cavalleria Rusticana"/"I Pagliacci"), St. Gallen ("Il Diluvio universale" and "Die Zauberflöte"), Bern ("Die Fledermaus"), Oper Graz ("Opernball"), Lausanne and Toulouse ("Le Nozze di Figaro"), as well as to Bury Court Opera ("The Rake’s progress"). His work in Wiesbaden includes collaborations with Bernd Mottl on "Candide", followed by "Geächtet", "Mein Kampf", "Manon"and "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg". This season, he designs both set and costumes for Mottl's new production of "Anna Nicole".
