Christoph Pohl

Born in Hanover, Christoph Pohl was a member of the ensemble at the Semperoper Dresden from 20015 to 2018, where his repertoire included roles such as Papageno, Count Almaviva, Guglielmo, Belcore, Giorgio Germont, Posa and Guillaume Tell, Wolfram and Amfortas, as well as Olivier and the Count in "Capriccio". He previously studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover and was a studio member at the Hamburg State Opera. Guest engagements include the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Albert in the world premiere of Detlev Glanert's "Oceane"), the Stuttgart State Opera, the Leipzig Opera, the Hamburg State Opera, the Frankfurt Opera, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Vlaamse Opera, the Opéra national de Lyon, the Theater an der Wien and at the Bregenz Festival. In 2015, he made his debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London with the world premiere "Morgen und Abend" by Georg Friedrich Haas, which was written for him. He is in great demand as a lieder and concert singer in Europe, the USA and Japan. He has appeared at the Bavarian State Opera as Ottokar ("Der Freischütz"), Baron Douphol ("La traviata"), Frank/Fritz ("Die tote Stadt") and Count Almaviva ("Le nozze di Figaro"), amongst others.
