Somewhere Else

"Somewhere Else" tells the sensitive story of a little girl caught in the middle of a war. We observe a city through her eyes: aeroplanes fly overhead, the streets are empty and there is no more food available in he shops. The school is closed and everything is so different from how it used to be. The little girl's greatest wish is to leave her country and live in peace somewhere far away.

The Ljubljana Puppet Theatre combines classic character animation with live video projections and virtual drawings. The actress sketches the environment on a revolving table, in which we see the protagonist and her dog Runo walking around in a quaint way.

The Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, founded in 1948, is considered the most important puppet theatre institution in Slovenia and is dedicated to continuing the long tradition of Slovenian puppetry. The Ljubljana Puppet Theatre performs "Somewhere Else" in Wiesbaden in German.
