Beate Ritter

Born in Austria, soprano Beate Ritter studied at the Vienna Academy of Music and Performing Arts and the Vienna Conservatory. In 2009, she received the audience prize at the "Klassik Mania" competition in Vienna and made her opera debut at the Theater an der Wien as Yniold ("Pélleas et Mélisande"). In 2010, she made her debut at the Volksoper Vienna as Blonde ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail"). Here , she performed as ensemble member until 2018, with important roles including Adele ("Die Fledermaus"), Frasquita ("Carmen"), Rosina ("Il barbiere di Sevilla"), Olympia ("Les Contes d'Hoffmann"), Anna Reich ("Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor"), Annina ("Nacht in Venedig") and Walter ("La Wally"). At the Volksoper alone, she sang the role of the Queen of the Night ("Die Zauberflöte") over a hundred times. Opera and concert engagements have taken her to Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Japan and New York. In 2017, she made her debut as Zerbinetta ("Ariadne auf Naxos") at the Opéra National de Lorraine in Nancy and also appeared in the title role of Lakmé at Malmö Opera. In 2019, she sang Olympia ("Les Contes d'Hoffmann") at the Opéra de Lausanne.

Beate Ritter has been a member of the Stuttgart State Opera ensemble since 2018/19, with important roles including Zerbinetta ("Ariadne auf Naxos"), Sophie ("Der Rosenkavalier"), Musetta ("La Bohème"), Adele ("Die Fledermaus"), Waldvogel ("Siegfried") and Amour and La Folie ("Platée").
