Pia Douwes

Born in Amsterdam, Pia Douwes is one of the most successful musical stars in Europe. She studied for 3 years at the Brooking School of Ballet (1983 - 1986) in London and completed musical courses with Sam Cayne and Susi Nicoletti in Austria. She has been taking singing lessons with Carol Blaickner-Mayo and Noëlle Turner since 1986 and is studying to become a CVT (Complete Vocal Training) teacher in Denmark. With her award-winning portrayal in the title role of "Elisabeth" (Vienna world premiere, Scheveningen, Essen, Stuttgart and Berlin) Pia became one of the most sought-after leading ladies of the German, Dutch and Austrian musical theatre world. She also created the role of Milady de Winter in "3 Musketeers" (Rotterdam, Berlin and Stuttgart) and starred in London's West End and on Broadway as Velma Kelly in "Chicago".

Pia Douwes makes her Wiesbaden debut as Sally in the new production of Stephen Sondheim's musical "Follies".
