American soprano Heather Engebretson received her training at the Juilliard School in New York and is a prize laureate of the Savonlinna Opera Festival and Belvedere Singing Competition. She made her stage debut as Queen of the Night in "Die Zauberflöte" in St. Louis, where she also sang Greten in "Hänsel und Gretel". As emsemble member in Hannover, she sang roles such as Oscar ("Un ballo in maschera"), Zerlina ("Don Giovanni"), Musetta ("La Bohème") and Tytania ("A Midsummer Night's Dream"). In Wiesbaden, her roles included Violetta ("La Traviata"), Konstanze ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail"), Fiordiligi ("Così fan tutte"), the title role in "Alcina", Euridice ("Orpheus and Euridice"), Lucy ("The Threepenny Opera"), Musetta ("La Bohème"), as well as Barbarina in the International May Festival production of "Le nozze di Figaro". During the 2015/16 season, she made her debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in the role of Barbarina and also sang Sophie in "Werther" under Antonio Pappano. During the 2016/17 season, she was an ensemble member at the Hamburg State Opera, where she sang Musetta, Ascagne ("Les Troyens"), Frasquita ("Carmen") and Tabarco (Handel's "Almira"). Previous roles in Wiesbaden include Donna Elvira ("Don Giovanni"), Gilda ("Rigoletto") and Cherubino ("Le nozze di Figaro"). She returns to the Wiesbaden stage as Cherubino in the 2021/22 season.
