Julian Habermann

From 2013 to 2017, tenor Julian Habermann studied with Prof. Hedwig Fassbender at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, where he is currently a student of Prof. Thilo Dahlmann. He is a laureate of the national "Gesang Berlin" (Junior) competition and a finalist of the international "Das Lied" competition. In addition, he was a scholarship holder of the Lied Academy of the International Heidelberger Spring Music Festival. In 2018, Julian Habermann took part in the "Liederwerkstatt" at the "Kissinger Sommer" with pianists Axel Bauni, Jan Philip Schulze and Steffen Schleiermacher and won the Luitpold Prize in 2019. In 2017, he sang the arias in Bach's St. Matthew Passion in Brixen, Meran and Eisenach with the Tölzer Knabenchor, following further performances of the same work in 2019 with the Bach Society of the Netherlands under Philippe Herreweghe. Upcoming projects include the Christmas Oratorio in the Zurich Tonhalle, as well as St Matthews Passion with Reinhard Goebel. As a student, Julian Habermann appeared as guest in various roles at the Oper Frankfurt. After making his house debut as Oronte in Handel's "Alcina" in the previous season, he now returns to Wiesbaden as Dancaïro in "Carmen", Evangelist in the "St Matthew Passion", Tamino in "die Zauberflöte für Kinder", Daland's Steerman in "Der fliegende Holländer" and Pastor Adams in "Peter Grimes".
