Prince Tamino is no hero in the classical sense of the word: when the Three Ladies entrust him with the task of freeing the Queen of the Night's daughter from the clutches of the mysterious Sarastro, he is all but enthusiastic. But when he sees a picture of the young Pamina, he is suddenly filled with renewed motivation and falls in love with the princess's image. Together with the quirky bird catcher Papageno, he sets off on a treacherous journey, equipped with a magic flute and bells.

Intendant Uwe Eric Laufenberg brings a new production of Mozart's magic opera to the stage as part of his final directing "Trilogy" ("Der Sturm", "Die Zauberflöte" and "Falstaff").
