Christina Esterházy

Born in Munich, the soprano Christina Esterházy initially received vocal training from her mother. In 2004 she won the special prize in the competition "Die Engelsstimmen - Musica Bavariae" in Munich. This was followed by concerts in the Allerheiligen-Hofkirche of the Munich Residenz and television appearances on ZDF, among others. After graduating from high school in Bavaria, she studied at the University of Music in Bolzano with Prof. Sabina von Walther and completed her studies with distinction. In 2017, she was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association Bayreuth e.V. at the Bayreuth Festival. In 2018 she won the "Rotary Music Award" and performed at the opening of the Europe Summit. She made her Italian debut in 2017 and 2018 as Adele in "Die Fledermaus" and Christel in "Der Vogelhändler".

Esterházy has a wide-ranging concert and lieder repertoire. In spring 2019 she recorded songs by Richard Strauss for a CD production. She has received vocal training from KS Helen Donath and KS Diana Damrau, and worked with director Andreas Homoki at the Zurich Opera House in 2021. During the 2021/2022 season she appeared as Sand-/Taumännchen in "Hänsel und Gretel" at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich.

She makes her house and role debut in Wiesbaden as Aksinja in Shostakovich's "Lady Macbeth of Mzensk" during the 2023/2024 season. In addition, she will debut as Queen of the Night in Uwe Eric Laufenberg's new production of Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte".
